“So in such a case (in the event of a war with Russia) will the Americans be involved in supporting Europe?” asks Medvěděv in the post. “In my opinion, no. And it is not at all about Trump’s critical attitude towards the Europeans, nor about the current conflict with Iran, on which the USA is using all its forces,” he added.
According to him, this is a question that is not “irrelevant”, which, according to him, proves that “crazy European leaders” are fully developing the topic of war with Russia.
“France and Poland, as the current leaders of militaristic Russophobia, have even started preparations for joint nuclear exercises,” stated Medvěděv. “In addition, the production of drones for Kyiv on the territory of a number of European countries has brought additional tension to the stormy atmosphere on the continent,” he added.
The USA does not need Europe
He further stated that Washington does not really need Europe. He justified this, among other things, by the fact that the European members of NATO did not come to the USA’s aid in the war against Iran, that the EU got out of control of migration, or that the United States had enough of its own problems.
“And Washington has a lot of its own complex internal problems, if we don’t count those that the current talkative man of the White House managed to escalate in a short time. And the last thing he needs is a large-scale conflict with our country,” stated Medvěděv. By the talkative master of the White House, he probably meant Donald Trump.
According to Medvedev, the Europeans should not count on the active intervention of the United States “in a hypothetical conflict between individual EU countries and Russia”. He also called on Europe to assess its forces without the US before they start “shouting about the Kremlin’s readiness to oppose and inflict a crushing defeat on Russia.”
“Look at how your military plants participating in the war against Russia are protected. How energy and transport are protected. Remember the recent events of the US-Iranian conflict. And finally, count your arsenals, including, of course, the nuclear component,” he concluded.
Trump’s threats
Trump has been criticizing the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance for a long time. The last point of his criticism was the non-involvement of European allies in the American-Israeli war against Iran. He talks about the fact that these states “were not there” for the US and that Washington may not be there for them either.

“Why would we be there for them if they’re not there for us? They weren’t there for us,” Trump said in late March.
In addition to the fact that the US would not come to the aid of the allies despite the obligations arising from Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, Trump is also threatening to withdraw from NATO. But for that he would need the approval of Congress.
Medvedev threatened the Czech Republic
In his contribution, Medvedev mentioned, among other things, “the production of drones for Kyiv on the territory of a number of European countries”. Last Wednesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense published a list of countries where Ukrainian drones are manufactured. The Czech Republic is among them. Medvedev stated that all factories in the territory of these countries are a target for the Russian army.
Because of Medvedev’s words, the Russian ambassador Alexandr Zmejevskij went on the carpet at the MFA, who was told that such threats are unacceptable. He then replied that the Czech Republic is getting more and more involved in the war in Ukraine and that Western companies have the right to know the risks associated with supporting Ukraine.
