Trump’s former special envoy, Richard Grenell, has stated that on September 16 the Special Court in The Hague is expected to announce the decision in the case against former president Hashim Thaçi and that there is bipartisan support for the latter in the US.
Grenell wrote that Thaçi “has been in prison for six years” after, according to him, the former chief prosecutor of the Kosovo Specialized Chambers in The Hague, Jack Smith, arrested him while traveling to Washington for negotiations with Trump.
He said that Smith’s cases in the US have all failed, while this one in The Hague is the last he has left.
Grenell’s reaction comes after the march held on Saturday in Pristina, where over 100 thousand citizens called on the Special Court based in The Hague to release the former KLA leaders Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
