Witnesses rescued a small child, a woman and the driver from an overturned car in a stream on Prachaticka

The accident happened after 11 o’clock on the second-class road between Bavorov and Netolice. “The driver of a Škoda Fabia passenger vehicle ran over the vehicle after passing a right-hand turn off the road, where it collided with a tree and then overturned onto the roof into the adjacent stream,” Prachatice police spokeswoman Martina Joklová described the accident.

She emphasized that the 42-year-old driver, his female passenger and a small child managed to get out of the vehicle in time by two men who luckily noticed him when they were driving by. “One of the possible versions could be the driver’s microsleep,” the spokeswoman added.

The rescuers confirmed that they had three people in their care. “The injured woman suffered a slight injury to her upper limb. A middle-aged man was also slightly injured in the head area,” stated Vojtěch Míra, spokesman for the medical rescue service. The child’s condition also required treatment. All three members of the car’s crew were taken to the hospital by paramedics.
