In the early parliamentary elections of June 7, the Vetëvendosje Movement goes again with Albin Kurti as a candidate for prime minister.
At the meeting of the council of this force, where the decision was taken, Kurti expressed his belief that in the next elections Vetëvendosje will gain even greater support than in those of December 28.
“From February to December. So, last year we grew by 9%. And if we grow by the same amount from December to June, then we will really be able to reach 60%. If we work as we know, as the situation requires, with sincerity and dedication, this too is undoubtedly possible“, said Kurti.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, announced that the force he leads will go to the elections with Vjosa Osmani as the head of the list and candidate for president, while he himself will be a candidate for prime minister.
“In this union, we will compete on a joint list with Vjosa as its carrier and candidate for president of the Republic, and me as a candidate for prime minister. We will compete together with 110 candidates as part of a goal much bigger than ourselves”said Abdzhiku.
The new elections in Kosovo are held after the 10th legislature of the Assembly failed to elect a new head of state, a process for which the votes of the opposition were also needed.
