Turkey’s new Ambassador to Skopje, Fatih Ulusoy, presented his credentials to the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski.
According to a statement from the Presidency of North Macedonia, Pendarovski said during the ceremony where he presented his credentials that North Macedonia and Turkey have a traditional friendship dating back many years.
Expressing his satisfaction with the good relations between the two countries based on mutual support and respect, Pendarovski thanked Turkey for the support it has given to North Macedonia since its independence and continues to give.
Pendarovski stated that as NATO allies, the two countries face turbulent times that also affect the region, and emphasized that cooperation, trust and coordination in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, illegal migration, cyber threats and similar issues are priorities for everyone, and that this creates added value in relations.
Noting that the two countries have developed dynamic economic relations, Pendarovski underlined that there is a mutual desire to open new perspectives in order to further intensify economic cooperation and increase trade, as well as cooperation in the fields of security, defense, agriculture, education, culture and science.
Pendarovski wished Ulusoy success in his new position.

Ambassador Ulusoy also stated that Turkey appreciates the partnership with North Macedonia based on mutual respect, trust and cooperation, and emphasized that they see North Macedonia as an important partner in the Balkans.
Ulusoy pointed out that the common culture enables the continuation of both bilateral and multilateral relations and cooperation at a privileged level, and said that the Turkish community, which has existed in this region for centuries and has worked for the development and prosperity of North Macedonia, and the Turkish citizens who migrated from here to Turkey are the most important elements of mutual relations.
Ulusoy stated that the NATO membership of North Macedonia, which they strongly support, has brought an alliance dimension to the relations between the two countries, and emphasized that the two countries promote peace, stability and prosperity in the Balkans through close cooperation on different regional issues.
Ambassador Ulusoy noted that North Macedonia, with its multicultural and ethnic structure, sets an example for the entire Balkans in terms of peaceful coexistence of societies.
