The head of the LVV, Albin Kurti, spoke to the media after incidents in the Assemblywhich led to the interruption of the constitutive session. Kurti stated that although the LVV has the votes to vote for a new speaker, the constitution of the Assembly without an agreement that also guarantees the election of the president, necessarily leads to new elections.
“Our rightful insistence is to sit down, talk, deal and only from the height of a political agreement and from the breadth of an agreement between me and the leaders of other parliamentary parties, to constitute the Assembly, the Government and elect the president“, he said, after the constitutive session.
He called on other political parties to meet to reach an agreement.
Asked about the incident with the Alliance deputy, Time Kadriaj, who threw eggs at him, Kurti said that if this is the price he has to pay so that the political leaders can dialogue to reach an agreement, he agrees to pay such a price.
“Even if such actions are taken against me, I am not here for myself, I am here for the Republic of Kosovo and I ask that others also come here and make an agreement for the Republic. If throwing eggs and hitting the prime minister’s jacket and pants with eggs thrown at a deputy is the price I have to pay so that they can sit down and talk together and dialogue, I’m happy to pay this price. Just let them come to the meeting. Just let them sit and talk. I’m not complaining that they throw eggs, I’m complaining that they don’t want to meet“, he declared.
