The Human Rights and Freedoms (IHH) Humanitarian Relief Foundation delivered aid to approximately 16 thousand people in need identified in the Balkans as part of its Ramadan activities.
Osman Atalay, a member of the IHH board of trustees who participated in the Ramadan activities in the city of Doboj in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in a statement that they have been continuing their work in the country since 1992.
Atalay stated that people in need were identified as a priority and that they provided food packages to 250 families, iftar meals to 400 people and holiday clothes to 500 orphans in Doboj through the EMMAUS International Solidarity Forum.
Atalay, who stated that IHH provided aid to those in need in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, as well as Poland and Romania as part of its Ramadan activities, said, “We distributed food packages to 3,040 families, provided iftar meals to 640 people, provided alms/fitr to 185 families and purchased Eid clothes for 650 orphans.”
Atalay, a member of the IHH board of trustees, said that Bosnians know the importance of cooperation well, and that the country, which received aid from many parts of the world during the Bosnia-Herzegovina war in 1992-1995, is now providing aid to communities in difficult situations such as Bangladesh, Somalia, Afghanistan, Palestine and Syria through the Merhamet Association and EMMAUS.
Within the scope of Ramadan activities, IHH provided 320 food packages, iftar meals for 100 people, and 95 alms to Albania; 250 food packages, iftar meals for 400 people, and Eid clothes for 500 orphans to Bosnia-Herzegovina; 645 food packages and 80 alms to Kosovo; 800 food packages to North Macedonia; 200 food packages and Eid clothes for 150 orphans to Montenegro; 400 food packages to the Sandzak region of Serbia; 225 food packages to Romania; and 200 food packages and iftar support for 140 people to Poland.
