There is a risk of strong storms on the Adriatic

According to the forecast of the ESTOFEX initiative (European Experiment for Storm Forecasting), the strongest storms are likely to occur in the Po Valley.

The biggest danger accompanying thunderstorms can be particularly large hail, heavy rain and wind. It can reach a speed of over 70 km/h in impacts. The occurrence of a tornado or water tornado is not excluded.

With a lower probability, these dangerous phenomena can also appear in central Italy, on the coast of Croatia, in Sardinia and in Turkey. Thunderstorms should occur throughout the Mediterranean region, but elsewhere they should not be as strong.

Strong storms occur in the area of Italy already during Wednesday and a water tornado even appeared near Naples.

The low pressure will move from the north of Italy towards the northeast during the weekend and will also affect the weather in the Czech Republic. In particular, it could bring more abundant rains to Moravia.
