In the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo, the court hearings against Hashim Thaçi and the co-accused for the offenses related to obstructing the administration of justice have started today. The first session started at 09:30, while the process is expected to continue until May 15.
According to the indictment, Thaçi and others are suspected of having acted individually and in collaboration to influence or hinder officials in the performance of their official duties.
In the context of this case, Bashkim Smakaj, Fadil Fazliu and Isni Kilaj were arrested in Kosovo on December 5, 2024 and the day after they were transferred to the detention center in The Hague, after confirmation of the indictment and arrest warrant by the Special Court.
Meanwhile, the arrest warrant for Thaçi was delivered to the detention facility in The Hague on December 5, 2024. While Hajredin Kuçi received the indictment and the invitation for the first appearance before the court on December 9.
The accused pleaded not guilty during the initial hearing held on February 27, 2026.
