The “Konjufca” government fails – The second representative of the LVV received only 56 of the 61 necessary votes

With 56 votes in favor, 53 against and 4 abstentions, the second representative from the Vetëvendosje Movement for Prime Minister Glauk Konjufca failed to create the new government of Kosovo. Earlier, while asking for the vote of the deputies, he said that it would be arrogance if Kosovo goes to elections again, stressing that without a new government the crisis in Kosovo will deepen.

We intend to save Kosovo from another election. It would be arrogance to take the country to elections again. If they hold them in December, who guarantees that we don’t go to March as well? … Two letters for a coalition addressed to the third party, the second attempt at the Presidency of the Assembly and the third is the last one where we are now“, said Konjufca.

Deputy Uran Ismaili from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, confirming the vote against the “Konjufca” government, said that the session is a farce.

This session is a farce.. PDK votes against, VV will blame other parties“, said Ismaili.

LDK head Lumir Abdixhiku accused acting Prime Minister Kurti of blocking the country, while comparing him to Don Quixote, saying that his governance is taking place in a parallel reality.

The one who will solve the crisis does not spend 15 days in vain to come to the same result. … theatrical performance … a man blocking the place for 10 months straight for a chair, how undignified“, said Abdzhiku.

Ramush Haradinaj, the chairman of AAK, who has warned of a vote against the “Konjufca” government, addressed a question to the second representative from Vetëvendosja.

Have you done the math if you have 61 votes?“, said Haradinaj.

Earlier, the Assembly of Kosovo met to discuss the creation of commissions that would pave the way for the review of the 2026 budget. The session was left open by Speaker Dimal Bashaq on the grounds that he expects a change in the positions of the political parties. During that session, acting Prime Minister Kurti said that if the international agreements are not voted on, the country will lose over 200 million euros, funds from the growth plan of the EU and the World Bank.
