Magyar waved to a pensive Orbán from the presidential palace. He does not want the seat of government

Magyar announced on Facebook on Thursday that he will move the prime minister’s seat from the former Carmelite monastery to an unspecified ministerial building near the parliament.

For a long time, Orbán tried to move the prime minister’s residence to Hradní vrch, where the Hungarian president also has his residence. According to the Hungarian media, the costs of the reconstruction of the former Carmelite monastery exceeded 30 billion forints (two billion crowns). Orbán liked to brag to foreign visitors about the beautiful view of Budapest from his office.

Even by moving his office closer to the parliament, Magyar wants to cut himself off from the past, sixteen years of continuous rule by Orbán.

Absolute cinema

On Wednesday, the next prime minister visited President Tamás Sulyok, who announced that he would entrust him with forming the government. Both politicians discussed together for 45 minutes. Magyar again called on the president to resign. Otherwise, he will be dismissed because the Tisza party has a constitutional majority after the elections and Magyar has repeatedly called Sulyok “a puppet president”.

On this occasion, Sulyok showed his residence to Magyar. They also went out on the balcony. A curious situation arose here, when Magyar suddenly saw Orbán on the balcony of the adjacent building of the former Carmelite monastery. He took the opportunity and waved at the prime minister with the words “absolute cinema”.

Orbán was reading something on the balcony and did not respond to Magyar. Comments immediately appeared on social networks that he was preparing a farewell speech.
