Haxhiu: Serbian crimes will be documented, Serbia is a haven for criminals

The Acting President of Kosovo, at the same time Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, paid tribute today in Poklek and in Old Čikatovo, stressing that there is still no justice for the crimes committed during the war, despite the fact that the perpetrators are known.

During the visit to the Memorial Complex in Old Cikatovo, Haxhiu stated that 24 unarmed civilians were killed in this place, whose bodies, according to her, were burned several times in order to hide the crime.

“They were killed with automatic weapons and hand grenades, while their bodies were then sent to Raska in Serbia to hide the traces of the genocidal crime.” she expressed.

Haxhiu emphasized that the institutions of Kosovo are committed to increasing the capacities of the Kosovo Police and the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo, as well as the Institute for War Crimes has been approved, with the aim of fully documenting the crimes committed by Serbia in Kosovo.

She added that the institutions will continue to stand by the families of the victims, stressing that the pain remains great even after 27 years.
