Preparations for the biggest sports event in the country’s history, the “Prishtina 2030” Mediterranean Games, are entering an intensive phase of institutional coordination.
Acting Minister of Youth and Sports, Blerim Gashani, received in an official meeting the president of the Mediterranean Games, at the same time the President of the Olympic Committee of Malta, Julian Pace Bonello, as well as the Secretary General of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), Iakovos Filippousis.
The main focus of this high-level meeting was the review of the progress so far, with special emphasis on the large infrastructure projects that are expected to be implemented throughout Kosovo, as well as the strategic importance that this investment has for the international promotion of the state.
During the talks, Gashani reaffirmed the full will of the government to fulfill all commitments, noting the permanent impact that this organization will leave behind:
“I remain fully committed, as well as the institution I lead, to the successful realization of this major project, ensuring that the legacy of the 2030 Mediterranean Games will have a long-term impact on the development of sports, youth and sports infrastructure throughout Kosovo.”
The visit of the heads of the ICMG to Kosovo proves that international monitoring and cooperation is moving with sure steps towards 2030.
The successful implementation of this infrastructure plan will not only position Pristina as a regional sports center, but will provide new generations of Kosovar athletes with spaces and stadiums of the highest European standards, Kosova Press quotes.
