Elections in Kosovo / Ben Andoni in “3D”: Diaspora “not even under the sleeve” for Kurti. PDK has changed the game with Bedri Hamza

According to the analyst, Kosovo has already gained a kind of immunity against early or extraordinary elections, and the date chosen on the eve of the New Year does not constitute an obstacle, on the contrary.

The “diaspora” factor and the date of December 28

For Andoni, scheduling elections at the end of December is a tactical move that serves Albin Kurti’s party.

“Self-determination is favored with this election date because immigrants also come,” he said, implying that the influx of compatriots for the holidays translates into votes for VV.

The transformation of the PDK and the fading of the war narrative

Andoni paid special attention to the change of strategy by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). According to him, the decision to run for Bedri Hamza shows a new reading of the political reality, where the KLA narrative no longer has the former electoral weight.

“For Kosovo, the narrative of the KLA has faded, so the PDK has also moved. Bedri Hamza has a better approach as a statesman and will not set red lines for coalitions,” Andoni analyzed.

Post-election scenarios, closing the era of “red lines”

The arrival of a new leadership in the opposition and Hamza’s softer approach, according to Andoni, can create areas of cooperation that previously seemed impossible. He predicts that Prime Minister Kurti himself will change his political vocabulary, avoiding the denigration of the opposition.

“The reasons for this softening are pragmatic. Economic needs. Kosovo needs European money,” said Andoni, emphasizing that political stability is a condition.

According to him, the elections are expected to finally solve the equation of the position of the President.

“Everything is on the table for Self-determination,” concluded Andoni, leaving open the possibility of broad coalitions after December 28.
