AJet Opened 8 New International Routes

As of today, AJet has put into operation 8 new international routes extending to the Middle East, North Africa and the Balkans. With these new lines, the company aims to improve transportation opportunities in the region by increasing international travel options for passengers. Speaking at the opening, A Jet General Manager Kerem Sarp said, “We carried approximately 11 million passengers in the 6-month period we flew under the name Ajet. Our goal by the end of the year is to increase the number of passengers to 16 million.”

AJet, the new airline company that made its first flight under the name AJet on March 31, will fly to 8 new destinations in the Middle East, North Africa and the Balkans. The opening of the new lines took place today at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, in front of the AJet counter, with the participation of AJet General Manager Kerem Sarp, AJet managers and employees. With these openings, the airline will now operate regular flights to the cities of Riyadh, Medina, Dammam, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the Red Sea resorts Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, the historical city of Tuzla in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Bahrain.

‘WE WILL REACH 10 LINES IN TOTAL’

AJet General Manager Kerem Sarp made evaluations about the line opening:

“We are really happy today because, as AJet, we will open eight new lines in seven days. We will have operated in four different countries. In addition to these eight new lines, we have opened two new lines since the beginning of the year, so we will reach ten new lines in total. We are waiting for their permits by the end of the year. There are a few more countries. If these permissions come, we can add three or four new lines. Today, we are opening the Jeddah and Hurghada lines, and on October 2, the Riyadh and Bahrain lines will be activated. Thus, we will open the Tuzla line on October 7. The new line will be put into operation. We could not open a line in Bosnia for a long time, that is why the Tuzla line excites us. We have been waiting for permission to Egypt for a long time, we opened Hurghada, and the Damascus line has arrived. In fact, each line has a different story for us. “It is important,” he said.

‘OUR YEAR-END TARGET IS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS TO 16 MILLION’

Speaking about Ajet’s passenger transportation targets and the development of the fleet, Kerem Sarp stated that they will rejuvenate their fleet with new environmentally friendly aircraft:

“As AJet, we started operations on March 31 and have carried approximately 11.6 million passengers to date. Our goal by the end of the year is to increase the number of passengers to 16 million. Next year, 738 Max new generation aircraft will come to our fleet. These aircraft provide both sustainability and fuel economy. We will reduce the average age of our fleet next year. We will use seats produced with domestic resources by Turkish Airlines’ subsidiary TCA, thus we aim to offer a more comfortable travel to our passengers, together with Türksat, to launch the project at the end of 2025. We plan to buy it.”

“We have taken great steps towards digitalization since we opened,” said Sarp, underlining that they prioritize the comfort of passengers. Sarp said, “The world is changing rapidly and we are keeping up with this change. We aim to provide better service to our passengers by improving our infrastructure in the winter season, when operations are less busy. We are working to make the ticket purchasing and check-in processes easier.”

‘WE NOW STAND ON OUR OWN FEET IN THIS JOURNEY’

Kerem Sarp finally evaluated the independent development of the company:

“As AJet, we are now standing on our own feet in this journey that we started on March 31. We were established with the great experience and culture of Turkish Airlines, but now we have started to run on our own. We operate 400-450 flights daily and are busy with our flights based in Sabiha Gökçen and Ankara. “We have left a season behind. Although we had minor operational problems at the beginning, we quickly resolved them and continue to continuously improve our service quality.”

COMES TO 8 FOREIGN DESTINATIONS IN 7 DAYS

Among the new destinations launched today, there are important centers such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bahrain. With new lines, AJet aims to provide easy access to the holy lands, contribute to commercial, cultural and tourism activities between countries, as well as strengthen its presence in strategic markets. Operating flights to 32 countries and 95 destinations, AJet carried more than 10 million passengers in a period of 6 months. Aiming to become the second largest airline company in Turkey, the company now operates in the cities of Riyadh, Medina, Dammam and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, where the holy places are located, and the popular holiday destinations of the Red Sea, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It will also make regular flights to the historical city of Tuzla and Bahrain.
