“Several employees were injured and are currently being treated,” the airline said in a statement.
The unusual aviation incident happened around 12:45. The video of the incident shows how the front landing gear bent at the gate when a cargo platform was parked near it and an airport employee was delivering refreshments to the machine.
Another worker was on the ground near the front when the front landing gear collapsed. Fortunately, not one was injured. The crew was already on board at the time of the incident. The passengers have not boarded the machine yet, writes the website of the weekly Focus.
The Boeing 787 is a twin-engine wide-body aircraft that Lufthansa uses mainly on long-haul routes. According to Reuters, it is a new addition to the Lufthansa fleet. The company has only had it since the middle of January this year. It should have started as LH450 to Los Angeles. The flight had to be canceled at the last minute. The server Flightradar24 wrote that the plane was significantly damaged.
The exact circumstances of the incident are now being investigated.
