Member of the House of Representatives Lieu first played a video in which Donald Trump has his eyes closed next to Rubio. And then he asked the American minister if he had been to more than one meeting where the American president fell asleep.
“That’s a lie. That’s a lie. I’ve never seen him fall asleep. On the contrary, the guy never sleeps, which is a big problem because he calls me at two in the morning, at five in the morning, and you know, I like to sleep at least a little, I don’t have to sleep twelve hours, but I try to sleep at least six,” the head of American diplomacy defended Trump.
To that, Lieu replied that he would show him another video, which he said would convict him of the lie he had just told. “Oh, okay,” Rubio said.
The video shows Trump with his eyes closed while Rubio talks about Russia’s war in Ukraine. “You’re literally talking about war and peace and Donald Trump is sleeping right next to you,” Lieu interjected.
“If Donald Trump can’t be awake at these important meetings where the cameras are filming, imagine what he’s like when the cameras aren’t there,” the congressman said, asking Rubio if he had participated in a secret meeting where Trump fell asleep.
“I’ve never been to a meeting where the us… and even on this video you showed me, he doesn’t fall asleep,” Rubio replied. “So you’re lying again,” Lieu accused him again.
Subsequently, he played a video on which the French station France 24 asks if Trump fell asleep at the Memorial Day ceremony in Arlington, Virginia. In addition, Lieu said that Trump’s state of health is being ridiculed in the world.
