The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, where the focus was on relations between Serbia and the European Union, as well as progress on the European path.
In a public reaction, Vucic described the conversation as “good and open”, emphasizing his country’s commitment to accelerating key reforms. He underlined that Serbia will continue implementing reforms in the field of the rule of law, improving the judicial system and strengthening the independence of institutions.
Also, the Serbian president announced that the implementation of the media laws and a number of other reform laws, in accordance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission, was at the center of the discussion.
According to Vucic, Serbia remains committed to aligning itself with European standards and to follow the path towards integration in the European Union, stressing that the process requires continuous work and institutional responsibility.
