The indictment for the tragedy of Kocani – 37 accused of fire where 62 people in North Macedonia lost their lives.

The North Macedonian Criminal Court has approved the indictment for the serious tragedy at the Pulse Night Club in Kocan, where 62 people were killed and over 150 were injured.

The Criminal Council, after reviewing the evidence and evidence, decided to accept the indictment as a whole and to form a new court case the court clarified that two judges withdrew from the case due to the conflict of interest, while the Skopje Prosecutor’s Office took over the trial.

The process will not take place in Kocan, due to a lack of conditions and has been moved to Skopje, where the start date has not yet been set.

According to the court, this is because the file must pass through the AKMIS electronic system.

37 people are charged in the process, while over 250 have been declared injured. Investigations continue for police officers and inspectors suspected of possible violations during the incident.

The organized crime prosecution is involved in a special investigation, which is still in the pre -investigative phase.

The tragedy happened on March 16, when a fire began in the closed premises of the premises that swept throughout the space. According to reports, the facility did not meet the security conditions and was out of legal standards.

The prosecution announced that the investigation has expanded and included employees of the Directorate of Public Income, which allegedly neglected the controls.

So far there is no exact date for the trial, but authorities say the case will be treated with priority.
