The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has stated that the formation of the Government must happen as soon as possible to avoid the postponement of reforms.
After an activity at the Oncology Clinic for women affected by breast cancer, President Osmani emphasized that with the constitution of the Assembly, finding a “common language” is now in the hands of the political parties.
“Despite my constant commitment to the constitution of the Assembly, that issue has been dependent on the political will of the parties and the deputies. Finally, that process has also been completed. We have the constitution of the Assembly.
The sooner we have a Government with a constitutional mandate, the sooner we can push forward reforms, approve a comprehensive budget and take other important decisions that are foreseen to be taken by the Government. But when this will happen, it depends on the political parties. I hope that they reach a common language and that the citizens of Kosovo have a Government with a full mandate,” said the President of the State of Kosovo.
The acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has been mandated to form the new government, being also the chairman of the first party to emerge from the February elections, the Vetëvendosje Movement. From the date of nomination, there are 15 days to form the Government.
“However, coalition negotiations are done only between political parties. As President, I cannot intervene and I cannot know how far those negotiations have reachedPresident Osmani emphasized.
