Politics in Kosovo is counting the last hours from the expiration of the temporary measure set by the Constitutional Court.
Separate voting of candidates for vice presidents of the Assembly of Kosovo, by minority communities, became the cause, on September 5, the Constitutional Body would impose that measure by preventing MPs from taking actions and decisions and conducting procedures for the formation of the country’s new government, on suspicion of constitutional violations.
The Serbian List submitted a complaint to the Constitutional following the decision of the newly elected leader of the Assembly Dimal Basha, after the latter declared the legislative body constituted, despite the Serb minority vice president.
At the August 30 session, Parliament Speaker Dimal Basha declared the constitution of the Assembly, as none of the candidates from the Serbian community received the votes needed to be elected vice president, and earlier, the minorities were elected representative from the Bosnian community, Emilija Rexhepi.
“Vetevendosje” insists that the Assembly has been constituted, a decision opposed by other parliamentary parties.
The party that won the February 9 elections criticized the announcement of the constitution, while that political entity mandated Albin Kurti for the creation of the new government.
