On October 17, a nationwide protest in support of former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) will take place at the Skanderbeg Square of Tirana, which is being tried at the Hague Special Court.
The protest was called by the KLA War Veterans Organization (OVL-KLA), which has previously organized rallies in Pristina and The Hague.
OVL-KLA chairman Hysni Gucati stated that the protest in Tirana is indispensable, after “KLA genesis is in Albania“, Remembering Albania’s role in forming the army in the 90s.
In the show “Theme of the Day” with journalist Arber Hitaj, Gucati criticized the Government of Kosovo and Prime Minister Albin Kurti that for “political anger“They are not doing enough for the accused.
He thanked the Albanian government for the continued support and especially Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has raised the issue in the Council of Europe.
Gucati stressed that the Special Court is deviating from the initial charges and trying to tarnish the KLA war, treating it as a criminal organization.
He dismissed charges of war crimes, describing them as Serbian and Russian propaganda, and said that “we have neither custom, nor in genesis to kill women, old people or children.”
Gucati Criticism of the Government of Kosovo
In the show “Theme of the Day” with journalist Arber Hitaj, Gucati criticized the Government of Kosovo and Prime Minister Albin Kurti for doing little, while Albania is engaging more in defense of liberators.

Analyst Leart Kola stressed that the litigation is not just about a few individuals, but with the attempt to tarnish the foundation of the state of Kosovo.

He said that ”The Special Court is trying to declare the KLA as a terrorist organization, questioning the existence of the state of Kosovo. ”

According to him, the process lacks transparency and seriousness, while the final decision is expected in June or July next year.
“The process has no seriousness in itself, but what is treated there is very serious for all Albanians.”
In conclusion, Hysni Gucati have called on all Albanians, regardless of joining the peaceful protest on October 17 in Tirana.
“This is not just a matter of some individuals, but it is a matter of dignity, sacrifice and historical truth,” he said.
