After the death of academician Rexhep Qosja, the institutions in Kosovo have declared a national Day of Mourning in honor of his figure.
Friday will be Day of Mourning throughout the territory of Kosovo, as a sign of respect for the outstanding contribution of the academician to Albanian culture, literature and thought.
Academician Rexhep Qosja passed away at the age of 89, while he was taken to his last residence this Thursday (April 23), without an official ceremony or public reception, according to his will.
Rexhep Qosja was considered one of the most important figures of Albanian thought and culture, with numerous contributions to literature and Albanian studies.
Institutions and public personalities have expressed their condolences for his passing away, evaluating him as a powerful voice of culture and national identity.
