Preliminary elections in Kosovo – IKD report: 25 candidates for deputies have problems with the law

On the eve of early elections on June 7, the Kosovo Institute for Justice has published a report, according to which out of 902 candidates certified by the Central Election Commission, 25 of them turn out to have problems with the law.

“2.77% of the total lists of candidates are people who have either final sentences or active indictments”, – announced the Kosovo Institute for Justice, emphasizing that 15 candidates have active indictments, while 13 others have had criminal convictions in the past.

“In terms of political entities, the Vetëvendosje Movement has the largest number of candidates who have problems with the law with 13 candidates. AAK and Lista Serbe have 3 candidates each, PDK has 2 candidates, while four other entities have included 1 candidate who has problems with the law”, – says the report of that organization, where it is emphasized that the criminal offenses that dominate are those related to official corruption and the use of weapons.

21 political subjects with 902 candidates compete in the early parliamentary elections on June 7, while the parties continue the electoral campaign where they are unfolding their programs to their supporters.
