On the sidelines of the Delphi Economic Forum, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ferit Hoxha, held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Greece, George Gerapetritis, where the joint commitment to strengthen relations between the two countries was reaffirmed.
The meeting comes after talks held earlier in Athens between the Prime Ministers of Albania and Greece, marking a new step towards strategic cooperation.
In a reaction on platform X, Hoxha announced that the meeting took place following the high-level communication between the two countries, including the earlier meeting during the day in Athens between the prime ministers.
Minister Hoxha emphasized that the parties have agreed to create teams dedicated to addressing unresolved issues, with the aim of finding balanced and sustainable solutions in the interest of the citizens of both countries.
“Unleashing the full potential of our partnership is a direct investment in bilateral friendship and cooperation, but also in the stability and prosperity of the region.,” said Hoxha.
The focus of the talks was the intensification of political dialogue and the expansion of economic cooperation, especially in the fields of energy, infrastructure and tourism.
The parties also committed to promoting greater connectivity and exchanges between citizens, seeing this as a strong basis for good neighborliness and long-term partnership.
The minister expressed his gratitude for Greece’s continuous support in the process of Albania’s membership in the European Union, as well as for its advocacy of expansion in the Western Balkans.
He praised Athens’ commitment to work closely with the future EU presidencies of Ireland and Lithuania so that enlargement remains a key priority on the European agenda.
The meeting concluded by welcoming the Delphi Declaration, adopted this morning, which represents a renewed commitment to turn the Thessaloniki pledge into a concrete outcome.
“The oracle of Apollo must have been listening,” Hoxha wrote in his post on X, underlining the historical and symbolic importance of this moment.
