Margin capping came into effect. We went to see the prices at gas stations

However, there was usually no significant price increase or discount. Most of the operators had the same prices on Wednesday as on Tuesday, or only slightly reduced them.

The gas station Tank ONO Kojetice-Tůmovka maintained the price of diesel at 46.90, gasoline at 39.90. Pumpa Průhonice also keeps Tuesday’s diesel price at 48.90 and gasoline at 41.90. EuroOil Odolena Voda belonging to the state company Čepro also did not budge on the price – it wants 47.40 for diesel, and 40.90 for natural 95.

On Tuesday, Orlen Průhonice had diesel for 49.90, gasoline for 43.50. On Wednesday, the totem already showed diesel for 49.50 and natural for 43.10. The operator “reduced” both prices there so that they corresponded to the regulations of the Ministry of Finance.

The same was done by the OMV station in Prague’s Nuslí, which asked customers for diesel 49.90 on Tuesday, on Wednesday it was already a little less – 49.50. Gasoline cost 43.50 on Tuesday and 43.10 on Wednesday. MOL in Prague’s Libni had diesel for 49.90 and gasoline for 42.90 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, diesel was for 48.90, natural 95 for 42.90.

Expensive in Ostrava

On the other hand, the OMV station in Mariánskohorská street in Ostrava became quite significantly more expensive. Gasoline was priced at 41.90 on Tuesday, 43.10 on Wednesday, and diesel rose from 48.90 on Tuesday to 49.50 on Wednesday.

“It doesn’t surprise me, in general they have kept the prices down in the last few days and if they could press down a little more with the government’s approval, why wouldn’t they do it. In general, the price of gasoline annoys me, I have two cars, one for the family and one for work, and it costs something, but it could be worse,” said Richard Mikuš, a driver refueling at the pump. He alluded to the fact that the maximum fuel prices set by the Ministry of Finance for Wednesday are above the current price average. This gave the pumps the opportunity to become more expensive. On Monday, the average price was CZK 48.51 for diesel and CZK 41.61 for gasoline.

And for example, the Shell gas station in Pilnáčková Street in Hradec Králové had petrol for 42.90 on Tuesday, on Wednesday it was asking 43.15 crowns per liter. Diesel, on the other hand, became cheaper exactly to the government ceiling from 49.90 on Tuesday to 49.59 on Wednesday.
