Last year, executors took the least amount of money from pensioners in 17 years

“However, you must not assume that the number of pensioners with enforcement deductions is the total number of pensioners in enforcement. Many of them have such a low pension that the executors simply cannot reach them due to the non-seizable amount,” stated Daniel Hůle from People in Need.

This is also confirmed by the data of the Debt Map, according to which at the end of last year, 66 thousand people over the age of 65 had foreclosure. A year earlier there were 67 thousand of them.

At the same time, pensioners are not always seniors. It can be a recipient of disability or survivors’ pensions. So last year, 28,600 seniors and almost 14,000 recipients of disability pensions paid the foreclosure.

The average pension from which the executors took money was 17,397 crowns. The amount of the deduction was – again on average – 3025 crowns.

At the same time, the number of people in foreclosure has been decreasing for a long time. At the end of last year, there were 596 thousand of them, 19 thousand less than the year before. The decrease is noticeable this year as well, when at the end of March the Executor’s Chamber recorded less than 592 thousand of them.
