Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, congratulated Ukraine today on the occasion of Independence Day, emphasizing Kosovo’s unwavering support for independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Ukrainian state.

In a post on the X platform, Kurti reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to stand by Ukraine and its people against Russian aggression, through sanctions and hospitality of Ukrainian citizens.

“Today, on the occasion of the National Day of Ukraine, we reaffirm our commitment to support the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of its state, as well as our allies’ efforts to achieve a fair and sustainable peace. Through the sanctions and waiting for Ukrainian citizens in Kosovo, we have stayed with Ukrainian and the people of the people and the people. We stand united against war and in support of peace in this country ”, Kurti wrote, adding that Kosovo will continue to be united in support of peace and against the war in Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the Russian occupation in February 2022, and even since the annexation of Crimea in 2014, various countries, international organizations and alliances such as NATO and the European Union have provided significant support to strengthen Ukraine’s resistance and protect its sovereignty; The United States has been the main contributor, offering about $ 10 billion in military aid since the beginning of the war, including Antitank Jaeelin missiles, Himars, Rockets Atacms; NATO countries, such as the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic, and others, have sent heavy weapons, tanks (such as T-72 from the Czech Republic), and air protection systems; Germany and Sweden have changed their policies to allow the delivery of offensive weapons; The EU has coordinated weapons supplies for the first time through its institutions, with a fund of 1.5 billion euros for protective and military equipment.

Kosovo, as shown by Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s statement, has received Ukrainian citizens and imposed sanctions on Russia.

The Kosovo Assembly has expressed full support for Ukraine and offered shelter for up to 5,000 refugees, as well as assistance to Ukrainian journalists.
