Jevtić, who has been suspended by the Police, based on the indictment, sent confidential and secret documents to Serbia, delivering them through Internet communication platforms, according to the indictment of the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
In it, it is written that the accused sent them to the Security and Intelligence Agency of Serbia (BIA) and that with this action the security of Kosovo was seriously endangered, for which the prosecution requested that the punishment against him be in accordance with paragraph 6 of article 124 of the Criminal Code, which foresees punishment from 10 years to life imprisonment.
“From an unspecified period of time until 17.07.2025, respectively until the moment of his arrest, the defendant, in the capacity of a police officer with the rank of lieutenant and in the position of Head of the Operative Sector at the Border Police Station, has deliberately and continuously collected, secured and transmitted information and official documents classified as ‘Confidential’ and ‘Secret’, which are related to security and the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo”, says the indictment for Bojan Jevtic.
According to the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Jevtic has sent information to the BIA, because of which the lives of officials of Kosovo’s security institutions and citizens have been endangered.
In the indictment it is emphasized that the messaging applications WhatsApp and Telegram were used to transmit state secrets to the BIA official, nicknamed “Kira”, with whom he also met physically on several occasions in Belgrade.
“With these actions, the defendant, although aware of the classified nature of the documents and the possible consequences, has seriously violated national security, the constitutional order and the functioning of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as directly endangered the lives and safety of state officials and its citizens,” the indictment states.
The former police officer of Kosovo, Aleksandar Vlajic, was convicted of espionage in Kosovo last year. This year, the official of the OSCE, Jelena Djukanovic, was also convicted in the first instance. She was sentenced to six years in prison.
