“Freedom for the liberators” dozens of ex-KLA fighters landed in the port of Durrës after the decision in The Hague

“Freedom for the liberators!” With this call and with the national flags and symbols of the KLA, about 50 ex-combatants arrived this morning at the port of Durrës.

They stayed in The Hague since September 12, where they waited for the decision of the Special Court for the four former leaders of the KLA Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.

The head of the group, Ismail Selmani, known as Commander Mala, contested the decision of the Special Court.

Although we were at the Hague, we went with a strong enthusiasm to join those men who kept us for six years in those propagandas, which, in particular, I can call uneducated and without any professional rigor. However, we left empty-handed. They thought we would return with our hands full“, said Ismail Selmani, former KLA commander.

The reaction of about 50 ex-combatants in Durrës comes after numerous protests and reactions in Kosovo and Albania, after the decision of the Special Court in The Hague.
