“Not in my name”, Kosovo in protest against the Special, Gucati demands the departure of Donika Gërvalla

Kosovo has stood up against the decision of the Special Court that sentenced the former leaders of the KLA to a total of 81 years in prison. In the rally held today in Pristina, thousands of citizens chanted “not in my name”, referring to the phrase of the judge in the final decision “in the name of the people of Kosovo”.

In the protest organized by the veterans, the head of the KLA War Veterans Organization, Hysni Gucati, asked Prime Minister Albin Kurti to remove Donika Gërvalla from the government and institutions of Kosovo. Gucati claimed that Gërvalla has submitted documentation to The Hague, while he demanded that she and Liburn Aliu provide clarifications on the information that, according to him, has ended in court proceedings.

“Today we are all KLA! Not in my name! Dear families of martyrs, invalids, veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Dear Albanian brothers! Dear family Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi, Selimi, Pjeter Shala, Sali Mustafa. Today we have gathered here to raise our voices against a great injustice that happened in the 21st century. In the country where justice is divided, in the country where there is democracy, in the country where We know that the Dutch citizens have nothing to do with this, but the people who work in the Netherlands. Judges who got their ideas from Trendafilova, who comes from a pseudo-communist state. We don’t have a son who comes out and says that we have to punish the members of the Liberation Army They were the best people of the nation, the Liberation Army of Kosovo. Today we breathe freely thanks to the struggle of Adem Jashari, Luan Haradinaj and many other martyrs. We ask that the special court annul this decision and take into account all the people, over 2 million Albanians who stood up to protect their sons. of KLA.

He also criticized Kosovo’s institutions for their reaction to the decision, singling out Minister Donika Gërvalla.
What surprises us today? Why are we surprised that we haven’t heard a single word from the institutions of our country yet? Instead of Donika Gërvalla coming out and giving a statement, an injustice that was done to our liberators, to Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selim, Cal, Pjetri, she is silent today. We know that Donika Gërvalla has submitted documentation to The Hague. We know that Liburn Aliu has spoken in the parliament of Kosovo. We tell Albin Kurti to expel these people from the government from today. Don’t leave them in the government”, declared Gucati.

Gucati went on to accuse Gërvalla and Ali for cooperation with the institutions that he considers responsible for the processes against the former leaders of the KLA and demanded their removal from the institutions.

People who cooperate with the enemy are the enemies of my country, they are the enemies of my nation and we do not want them among us. We, the liberators of the country, are not against any government. We are against those people who are silent. We are against those people who rejoice in their punishment. Albin Kurti surprises me today as he keeps in his offices a man who has not yet spoken a single word about the Kosovo Liberation Army. A man like Donika Gërvalla, who has not yet come forward to apologize to the citizens of Kosovo, to the Albanians of the country, to the martyrs, to apologize, because we know how to forgive, we have forgiven in more difficult days”, he said.

Gucati also requested that Gërvalla and Aliu give public explanations regarding the information that, according to him, was used in the processes in The Hague.

“We ask for clarification from Donika Gërvalla, Liburn Aliu to come out and declare where they got that information, who are the ones who killed these people. To separate the alum from the sugar once and for all, not to point the finger at the members of the Kosovo Liberation Army. On my behalf and on behalf of the three associations that came out of the war from and on behalf of all Albanian associations, we ask once again, we do not need to make an ultimatum to Albin Kurti to remove Donika Gërvalla from the country’s institutions. A man who slanders us, a man who takes false documents to the special court, should not lead our country, nor should he be the minister of justice when we know that he has done so, but we ask for his resignation as soon as possible because the people may rise up and be undesirable against them. Long live the Liberation Army of Kosovo to the nation, glory to all the veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army! You have always been and we will always be together”, said Gucati.
