Mejhiti promised the transformation of “Skënderbej” Square in Çair, comparing it with the counterpart square in Tirana, as one of the main priorities of his mandate.
According to Mexhit, the victory in Çair and Tetovo reflects a popular referendum for radical changes in local governance, challenging the dominance of traditional Albanian political forces, especially the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI).
He described the result as a proof of the legitimacy of VLEN as a political force that represents the new aspirations of the Albanian community.
Mejhiti revealed his immediate priorities for the municipality of Çairi, emphasizing urban development and infrastructure improvement.
Meanwhile, according to the preliminary data of the State Electoral Commission (SEC), Çairi registered a participation of 35.30% until late afternoon, an indicator of the high interest of voters in this municipality with an Albanian majority.
Mexhit’s victory comes after an intense campaign where VLEN promoted a platform based on decentralization, economic development and transparency in local governance.
