Edirne Governorate Balkan Cities Cooperation Platform Visits Teachers to North Macedonia

43 teachers from North Macedonia, who came with the organization of the Edirne Governorate Balkan Cities Cooperation Platform, visited Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer and Trakya University (TU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler. The kin teachers visited Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer in his office. The teachers, who provided information about their work, wished Sezer success. Sezer also stated that he was pleased with the visit and noted that the Balkan Cities Cooperation Platform continues to organize events. North Macedonian teachers attended the Being Turk in the Balkans Conference held in the Senate Hall of Trakya University. Trakya University (TU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler also made his first speech at the university as rector after being appointed to his post. Hatipler said that the platform increased friendship, brotherhood and cooperation between cities in the Balkans. Hatipler stated that being a Turk in the Balkans means keeping two characteristics alive and said, ‘Being a Turk in the Balkans means justice and exploitation. Although being a Turk in the Balkans may seem like a collapsed bridge, a mosque with no congregation left, a closed mosque, a pillaged Turkish cemetery, the truth written by history is that being a Turk in the Balkans means justice and exploitation.’ Bartın University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, Macedonian Turkish Civil Society Organizations Union (MATÜSİTEB) President Tahsin İbrahim, Edirne Culture and Tourism Director Kemal Soytürk, Edirne National Education Director Ferhat Yılmaz and academics attended the conference. Programs in the city for North Macedonian teachers will continue throughout the week.

“Being Turkish in the Balkans”

Teachers from North Macedonia attended the Being Turkish in the Balkans Conference held at the Senate Hall of Trakya University.

Trakya University (TU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler delivered his first speech as rector at the university after being appointed to his position.
