Croatia sends 133 soldiers to Kosovo

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Ivan Anušić, participated in the solemn ceremony of escorting the 45th Croatian contingent, with 133 soldiers in the NATO peacekeeping operation, KFOR, which was held at the “Colonel Predrag Matanović” barracks in Petrinja.

In the peacekeeping operation of NATO, KFOR, 133 members of the 45th Croatian contingent will be sent to the Republic of Kosovo, while the commander of the contingent is Brigadier Marijan Grđan.

“We escorted 133 members of the 45th contingent of the Croatian Army from the Petrinja barracks to the NATO peacekeeping operation in Kosovo – KFOR. Every soldier and every Croatian contingent that has participated in peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and in other parts of Europe and the world has always earned the highest praise and respect from their colleagues from NATO member countries, confirming the professionalism, knowledge and values of the Croatian army”, he said.

According to him, the Croatian Army is a victorious army, created 35 years ago from volunteer units, which stopped the enemy and four years later won the War for the Fatherland.

“This is exactly what makes it special, and that’s why our soldiers today proudly wear the Croatian symbols, representing the Croatian people and the Croatian state. I wish the participants of the 45th HRVCON contingent success, a peaceful and safe mission, and a happy return to Croatia,” he wrote.
