A man in Brno threw bags at policemen and rescuers from someone else’s roof. Then he fell

A man climbed onto the roof of a house inhabited by a 90-year-old senior woman on Thursday around half past two in the afternoon, and when the paramedics with the patient and the police were leaving the neighboring house, he started throwing roof tiles.

“At the same time, this person had nothing to do with the patient or the house he climbed on. The police called reinforcements to the scene. The emergency unit arrived with a negotiator, and firefighters with a platform,” described police spokesman Petr Vala.

But there was no reason to talk with the man, neither did the negotiator, who was also showered with bags. The unfortunate senior woman, whose roof was being torn apart by the furious man, preferred not to even leave the house, where she was kept company by the members of the intervention unit.

The man finally staggered on the roof around five in the afternoon and fell straight to the front yard, where he was quickly pacified. The rescuers only treated him for a minor injury. “With the assistance of the police, the man was taken to the hospital for examination. Any legal qualifications have not yet been established. We are still dealing with the case,” added Vala.

“We also treated a senior woman who suffered a stress reaction, after checking her condition we left her on the spot with instructions to seek help if her condition worsened,” added Michaela Bothová, spokesperson for rescuers.

As the mayor of Zbraslav Jana Valová told Novinka, there were already problems with the man who threw the bags. “The police were already here last week because of him, he was beating cars,” lamented the mayor.

The mayor together with the locals and the firemen took care of the upset senior citizen as well as the repair of the damaged roof. “We calmed it down on the spot and a roofer has already been arranged to repair the roof. I sat there with the lady for a while, hopefully it will be alright,” the mayor hoped.
