The dispatcher sent a police patrol on the afternoon of Saturday, March 7, to Na Průtahu Street, where, according to the reporting woman, a physical attack took place.
“A man walking along the side of the road attacked an unsuspecting pedestrian who was walking in the opposite direction. He suddenly punched him in the head and upper half of the body. During the attack, he pushed the victim behind a parked vehicle, where then under the threat of violence and with the help of other hand and knee blows aimed at the head, he forced the victim to hand over his mobile phone,” police spokeswoman Miroslava Glogovská described the beginning of the incident.
The rapist was apparently initially satisfied with the loot, so he moved away from the scene. But after a while he probably changed his mind. He returned to his victim, holding an ax in his hand.
“He didn’t use it in any way, but the attacked person was afraid when he looked at it, so he gave the attacker his smart watch as well,” the spokeswoman added.
During the attack, a vehicle parked nearby, from which a woman and a man got out, who noticed the incident on the opposite side of the parking lot and also heard the screams of the attacker and the victim’s call for help.
“The woman did not hesitate, she got into the vehicle so as not to attract attention, and from there she immediately called the police emergency line,” Glogovská described.
After the aggressor obtained a watch from the attacked person under the threat of violence, he forced him to walk in front of him on the road. At that moment, the summoned police officers arrived at the scene. The suspect was detained, while the victim was taken to the hospital for examination with injuries.
An aggressive young man, who faces charges of committing the crime of robbery, ended up in a remand prison. If his guilt is proven, the judge can send him to prison for up to ten years.
