“President Trump uses a very common cream on the right side of his neck that is meant for preventative skin treatment,” Trump’s doctor, Sean Barbabella, told CNN. “The president has been using this treatment for a week and the redness is expected to last for several more weeks,” he added.
At the same time, the statement did not specify what kind of cream it was, nor why Trump needed the skin treatment. The issue of Trump’s health has not been addressed for the first time in recent months. As early as last February, some noticed spots on his hands. Since then, he appeared several times with bruises on his hands.
“President Trump has bruises on his hands because he works all the time and shakes his hand every day,” commented White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavittová some time ago.
In July of last year, the White House announced that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after experiencing swelling in his legs.
“The President underwent a comprehensive examination, including diagnostic vascular examinations. Bilateral Doppler ultrasounds of the lower extremities were performed, which revealed chronic venous insufficiency, which is a benign and common condition, especially in people over 70 years of age,” according to a White House report at the time.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal in January, Trump said he was taking “more aspirin” than his doctors recommended for blood thinning, but that he was otherwise in “perfect health.”
