“We will activate the 7 GB data package automatically for everyone who is now in the affected countries. We will inform them about the activation via SMS and they can start using the data immediately,” said Vodafone spokeswoman Lenka Đo.
According to her, this support applies to Vodafone customers currently residing in the following countries: Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (Dubai and Abu Dhabi).
The operator O2 also activated a free roaming data package for its customers located in selected countries of the Middle East. “They received 5 GB of mobile data for free so that they can stay in touch with family and loved ones. Customers can use the data, for example, to communicate via Internet applications, e-mails or video calls. O2 informs them that they have an active package via SMS,” Veronika Zachariašová, O2 spokesperson, informed Fairpress.
It concerns thousands of people
“At T-Mobil, we immediately react to the current situation and will provide all our customers living in Middle Eastern destinations and affected by the current conflict with data to connect with their loved ones for 30 days free of charge,” T-Mobil spokeswoman Patricie Šedivá told Novinka.
She emphasized that T-Mobile registered 3,800 of its customers from the Czech Republic in the affected areas on Sunday. The other operators did not reveal the exact numbers, but even so it is clear that there are currently thousands of Czechs in the threatened areas.
“With effect from today’s afternoon, customers residing in the following countries: Iran, Israel, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan and Oman will have 10 GB of roaming data activated for free. Customers who are affected by data activation will be informed via SMS,” added Šedivá.

Attack on Iran
