Kurti: We vote for the Special Court if PDK guarantees the vote for Konjufca or Rushiti in the post of president

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, appeared tonight at a press conference with a new proposal for the election of the country’s president.

According to him, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has rejected the government’s offer to support Professor Bekim Sadiku as a candidate.

“The Democratic Party of Kosovo rejected our offer to support Professor Bekim Sejdiu. And I believe that in case of their positive answer, Professor Bekimi would return. In addition to him, of course we have two names that we have presented as candidates for president this year: Glauk Konjufca and Feride Rushiti, who are also current if there is interest from the opposition.“, he said.

He emphasized that, apart from Sadik, two other names presented earlier as candidates remain current: Glauk Konjufca and Feride Rushiti, if the opposition shows interest.

“”And we, after their commitment, are immediately voting for their second reading, if they think that not respecting the 72-hour deadline between two motions is not a problem. So, we vote on the draft law for the Special Court in advance, and then tonight immediately the vote for president, Glauku or Feridja.

So, an Assembly session tonight with two points: the vote on the bill for the Special Court in the second reading and the election of the new president of the Republic. After that, what I said, I expect the chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, whom I have not been able to meet, to come out publicly today and say that the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, all of them, will vote tonight for President Glaukun”. Kurt said.

He proposed a session of the Assembly tonight with two items on the agenda: the vote on the bill for the Special Court in the second reading and the election of the new president of the Republic.
