Albin Kurti is officially mandated for the formation of the new Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
The decree for his mandate was issued by the acting president of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, after the proposal made by the Vetëvendosje Movement.
The decree states that Kurti is proposed before the Assembly of Kosovo as a candidate for prime minister, with the aim of forming a new government.
“Mr. Albin Kurti has been appointed as the representative for the formation of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo”, stated Haxhiu.
According to the decree, Kurti has no later than 15 days from the day of appointment to present the composition of the Government to the Assembly and request the approval of the deputies.
Haxhiu wished Kurti success in his task, stressing the need for the formation of the Government as soon as possible.
“I wish Mr. Kurt success in exercising the responsibilities that stem from the trust of the citizens, as well as in forming the Government as soon as possible, in the service of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens”, wrote Haxhiu.
Kurti’s mandate comes after the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo and officially opens the phase of formation of the new Government.
Meanwhile, Vetëvendosje has stated that it secured 62 votes for the formation of the Government, one vote more than the minimum of 61 votes needed for the approval of the government cabinet.
