The head of the Organization of War Veterans of the UÇK (OVL-UÇK), Hysni Gucati, has criticized the Kurti government for, as he said, the lack of cooperation and the failure to fulfill the demands of the war veterans.
After signing the memorandum of cooperation between the Chamber of Hospitality and Tourism of Kosovo (OHTK) and OVL-UÇK, Gucati said that the organization he leads has not had meetings or discussions with the government in office.
He specifically focused on the issue of veterans’ health treatment, saying that currently 67 of them are affected by cancer, while 24 are receiving treatment in Turkey. According to him, some of the veterans are being treated in other European countries and in Kosovo.
Gucati said that Kosovo’s institutions have a legal obligation to take care of the categories left by war, including war veterans and invalids.
Within the signed memorandum, OHTK has expressed its readiness to support OVL-UÇK in the field of hospitality and tourism.
The president of OHTK, Hysen Sogojeva, said that the purpose of the agreement is to provide support to veterans and their activities within the possibilities of the chamber.
Meanwhile, the vice-president of the OVL-UÇK, Gazmend Syla, announced that next week the leadership of the organization will meet, where the next steps related to the developments in the Special Court are expected to be discussed.
Syla said that the veterans will discuss the actions they will take on the eve of the decision of the Special Court for the former leaders of the KLA./Kosovapress/
