After more than 16 hours trapped in the depths of the Trepça mine, the 18 miners have managed to get out safely from the shaft, where they were stuck due to a serious technical defect.
The news was confirmed by the member of the Workers’ Union of Trepca, Gani Osmani, who announced that the temporary restoration of electricity made it possible to extract the miners from about 800 meters underground.
“The 18 miners came out, they fixed the current temporarily, but they came out…”, Osmani stated briefly.
The miners had been isolated in the pit since the power cut, while technical teams and mine managers worked for hours to stabilize the situation and restore the electrical system.
The event caused great concern among the families and colleagues of the miners, while the authorities and union representatives closely followed the rescue operation.
According to preliminary information, the miners are in good health, while further verifications are expected to be carried out on the causes of the technical defect that led to their blocking in the mine.
