Vucic heralds possible purchases of weapons from China

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday that he used his participation in the military parade in Beijing to see “what would be of interest to buy for the needs of the Serbian army, so that it is a preventive factor to any possible aggressor from the neighborhood.”

“It is no coincidence that Pristina, Zagreb and Tirana formed a military alliance. And they did not do it because of Austria, Hungary or Slovenia, but because of Serbia. They did it against Serbia,” Vucic told Beijing journalists.

He stressed that Serbia “will not touch anyone”, but that it is strengthening its army to “preserve territorial integrity”.

Kosovo, Albania and Croatia, signed on March 18 a statement in Tirana, through which countries are committed to strengthening cooperation in the field of defense and security. The Croatian government told RFE / RL that the statement of the three states does not aim to create any military alliance.

Speaking about the Chinese army’s military parade and the possible purchase of weapons by it, Vucic said Serbia is not interested in Chinese ballistic and hypersonic missiles, but that China has high -functional aircraft and modern helicopters.

The Serbian leader told reporters in Beijing that he had meetings with representatives of 11 companies, with whom he also talked about the introduction and use of flying cars in Serbia.

“Companies are from different fields. The use of artificial intelligence will be of great importance to us in the future,” Vucic said. Commenting on talks with representatives of the Chinese company Zinjin, he said Serbia is interested in further acquisition of gold from the company, which is the majority of the Metallurgical Metallurgical Treatment Complex.

“We had meetings with important energy companies. We talked to Xpeng Company about flying cars. I believe that next year, by December 1, we will be able to show people how they work in Serbia and will be in use during the Expo2027 exhibition in Belgrade,” he said.

He added that during his visit to China he met with 12 world leaders, including Azerbaijan President Ilham Alijev, Indonesia President Prabo Subjanto and Slovakia Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Vucic and the Prime Minister of Slovakia were the only European leaders who participated in Beijing in the military parade with which China marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Rusha’s President Xi Jinping were guests, Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and other heads of states and government, including those from Belarus, Iran and other countries./ REL
