Up to 5,000 engaged people, Aliti talks about the economic benefits of the Mediterranean Games

The general secretary of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Aliti, has disclosed the plans for the creation of a special academy for the preparation of young people who will be engaged in the organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, stressing that this initiative aims to cover the needs in human resources.

Speaking about the concept of the academy and the organizational needs, he emphasized that the focus will be on young people who have just finished their studies and have no work experience, who will be trained and then have employment opportunities in organizational structures. According to him, the total number of people who will be engaged is very large.

“We will do with an international cooperation a training, an academy to train the young people of Kosovo and these are fresh bachelors… the goal is to educate in specific areas of the Mediterranean Games and allocate 360 national and 40 international people… the minimum staff we need is 800 to 1000 full-time employees and 2500 to 3000 volunteers. So we are talking about mobilizing about 5000 people for Mediterranean games”, Aliti declared in “SportCast”.

In the following, he emphasized the economic impact that these investments are expected to have, assessing that they should not be seen as expenses, but as a circulation that returns to the country’s economy through employment and tourism.

“Absolutely yes. It’s not that the costs that are created are only costs… all those investments in infrastructure and human resources are returned to the business and people of Kosovo through taxes. We also have to count on a large flow of tourism during the Mediterranean Games, which constitutes indirect income for the economy”, he added./KosovaPress
