Ukrainian drones again hit a refinery in Perm, 1,500 kilometers from the border

“Lukoil’s Perm refinery is on fire today… Initial reports indicate that the AVT-4 unit, a key component of basic oil refining, was hit in the refinery. The vacuum and atmospheric distillation towers caught fire as a result of the hit. Their damage practically put the unit out of service,” the SBU reported on the attack.

Ukrainian drones also hit the local linear production and dispatch station, which supplies the refinery with oil, the Ukrainska Pravda server reports. It was also hit a day earlier when, according to available reports, two fuel tanks caught fire in its premises.

The Lukoil oil refinery in Perm is one of the largest in Russia. Its capacity is close to 13 million tons of oil per year. It supplies not only the civilian sector, but also the Russian armed forces, which, according to Kyiv officials, makes it a legitimate military target.
