There is a dead whale near the Danish island of Anholt, apparently Timmy

“It’s quite big. If you look at it through binoculars, you’ll see it’s 10 to 15 meters long,” said Morten Abildstrøm, head of the Danish Nature Conservation Agency in Anholt.

The news that the whale was stranded on the island spread quickly. Some people allegedly married her. But experts warn against that, writes Bild newspaper.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency strongly recommends that people do not approach the whale. The animal can transmit diseases. There is also a risk of explosion as gas accumulates in the dead whale.

On Friday at low tide, experts will try to take a tissue sample from the whale, writes Ekstra Bladet.

The photos show that the animal does not have healthy skin. The whale lies 75 meters from the shore.

Most of the media speculate that it is Timmy the humpback who got stuck on the shoal near the island of Poel near Wismar. After a complicated rescue mission, the animal was released into the North Sea, about 70 kilometers from the city of Skagen, which is located on the northernmost tip of Denmark. He has not been seen since. Timmy had a transmitter, but it wasn’t working properly. There is no information about Timmy since Sunday.
