The Ukrainians hit a floating derrick with new weapons

The attack was carried out by the 413th Raid Regiment of the Ukrainian Forces of Unmanned Systems, the Most server reported.

The task was entrusted to the Ptachy unit together with units of the Ukrainian Navy. The platform was one of the targets of the attacks carried out on April 6, the website Most reported.

“On the night of April 6, the Birds engaged the Admiral Grigorovich (class) frigate in the port of Novorossiysk and delivered some salvo fire on the Syvash oil rig,” the Ukrainian armed forces said. The commander of the unmanned forces, Major Robert Brovdy, later confirmed that the frigate Admiral Makarov was the hit ship.

The published video also includes footage from a drone approaching the Syvaš drilling rig. In other shots, you can see how the platform was engulfed in fire.

The drilling platform was used by the Russians as an observation, monitoring and radar station. Already last year, it became the target of a raid by the Ukrainian navy, and in March of this year, it will apparently be the target of another attack.

Combined operation

This time, according to the NV (The New Voice of Ukraine) server, the Ukrainians decided on a combined operation that would prevent the occupiers from further using this platform.

According to NV, the birds used FPV drones. At the same time, however, unmanned vessels were used. It was not supposed to be about the popular Maguras, which were loaded with explosives during attacks on Russian ships and ports. It was supposed to be a new type of unmanned boat referred to in the media as the Sargan-3000, which already successfully participated in NATO exercises near Portugal last year, the Dumska website reported. The boat is not designed for a one-time attack using explosives, but carries rockets or firearms in turrets. In this case, he was supposed to carry machine guns that fired at Russian soldiers.

Missiles with a flat flight path were also used. Due to the different shape of the launcher, which is not cylindrical, but square, NV speculates on the use of a new version of the Ukrainian Neptun cruise missile or the Swedish RBS-15 with a range of 200 km, which carries 200 kg of explosives.

The Militarnyj website, referring to the Vodogray telegram channel, which published the footage, said that the Swedish RBS-15MK-III missiles were used for the first time, because they have typical engines on the sides of the hull.

Further details are not yet known, as some of the videos published by the Ukrainian Navy are from March 12, when the Ukrainians launched another attack on the same drilling platform. Then they apparently used unmanned boats with explosives on board.

There is also uncertainty surrounding the unmanned Sargan boat. The name Sargan is supposed to be used by the Russians for a copy of the ongoing Ukrainian boats.

After the occupation of Crimea, Russia seized mining platforms near Crimea, including those in the so-called The Rotten Sea (Syvaš), which is a muddy area of highly saline lagoons off the eastern coast of Crimea, which are separated from the Sea of Azov.
