Ukrainian drones hit a Russian warship

The operation was carried out by the “Birds” unit, planned and coordinated by the Ukrainian SBU counterintelligence. The drones hit the ship despite the efforts of the Russian air defense to shoot them down. The extent of the damage is currently being evaluated, writes Ukrainska pravda.

During the same night, drones also hit the Šeschariš oil terminal in Novorossiysk and the drilling platform “Sivaš” (known as the so-called Bojkovy věž) in the Black Sea.

On Sunday, a Russian cargo ship of the Volgo-Balt type carrying grain sank in the Sea of Azov, which is located between Russia and the occupied part of Ukraine, after a drone attack. According to available information, at least two crew members died in the incident.

The attacks on Russian naval infrastructure are part of the ongoing Ukrainian strategy to limit the ability of the Russian Black Sea Fleet to operate in the region and use it for missile attacks on the Ukrainian interior.
