The OHCHR report states that of the 168 murdered Ukrainian civilians, 140 were men, 23 women, three boys and two girls. The murder took place on the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.
One of the examples given by the OHCHR are the three detained Ukrainian brothers who were tortured by the Russian occupiers for several days. They then shot them in the head and threw them into a pit, which they then filled up. One of the brothers survived, according to the report.
Since the beginning of the war, Russian soldiers have murdered 42 Ukrainian soldiers who had previously surrendered to them, 14 of them were murdered between June and August of this year. In the same period, the OHCHR recorded three cases where Russian soldiers either cut up or cut off the heads of Ukrainian soldiers. These three cases were documented on social networks and according to the report, there are no indications that these are fake footage or photos.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights also deals with sexual violence against Ukrainian civilians and soldiers. As of February 24, 2022, the office has documented a total of 342 cases of sexual violence against 236 men, 94 women, ten girls and two boys committed by Russian soldiers, members of law enforcement agencies or members of the prison service.
As an example, the office cited the case of two women who were raped by Russian soldiers and who subsequently gave birth to an unspecified number of children.
However, these numbers are far from final. In its report, the OHCHR reports only on those cases that it is able to substantiate on the basis of evidence or statements of the victims.
