Kiev faced a large-scale airstrike last night, in which, according to the authorities, at least six people were killed and more than 64 others were injured. Fires broke out in several places in the city, which were extinguished by firefighters in the morning, including the fire in the showroom of the Chinese automobile manufacturer Zeekr.
This is far from the first case of a Russian attack on a civilian enterprise or place that is connected to countries that Moscow considers its partners. The Ukrainian State Service for Emergency Situations later published footage showing the extent of the damage in the car showroom.
Zeekr is a premium manufacturer of electric cars, founded by the Geely Holding Group, and at the same time one of the largest Chinese automobile concerns. The group also owns major European car manufacturers, such as Volvo Cars, Polestar and Lotus Cars.
The brand, which has only been on the market since 2021, was created to compete with Tesla and other manufacturers of premium electric cars. It relies on modern technologies, security systems and futuristic design.
According to the latest information, night attacks on Ukraine resulted in 17 dead and hundreds of wounded. A 24-story building also collapsed in Kyiv, apparently hit by a ballistic missile. People remained trapped under the rubble. Rescue work continues.
